I had green beans and potatoes seasoned with garlic and fresh rosemary (from my herb garden), and a little salt and butter (sometimes I add almonds but didn't have any today). Dinner is my lightest meal, so a slice of homemade applesauce cake (with raisins and walnuts) made a full meal for me.

I haven't had fried green tomatoes in the longest time! YUM!

...and libby your's sounds delicious too. I wouldn't have thought about adding rosemary to my green beans, but it's one of my favorite spices. I like to roast a chicken and add rosemary and sometimes I cut up potatoes in cubes and spray them w/olive oil spray and toss on some salt/pepper/garlic and rosemary and bake them. Very good!

I like the taste of pork in my green beans, but I don't like the fat. I found a pork flavored seasoning...kinda like bullion at the store and it does the trick, but very high in salt.

I generally put Bacon in Green Beans.

I know or fat back (salt pork) but this seasoning gives the same flavor w/out the fat. The next time I'll go to the store I'll take a look at the package and let you know what it is, just in case you're interested. It's in the ethnic section w/the seasoning for Mexican food.

Sandy, Yum! was what I thought too when I read what Nota was cookin' for dinner.
I started using garlic in green beans when I read that the French do it to make canned green beans taste like freshly picked. And I learned about using rosemary in beans when a co-worker brought a pot of navy beans to to a pot-luck dinner - they were so good I asked for the recipe, which included pork and rosemary. For me, rosemary seems to help "round out" the taste of certain foods the way meat does.

I'm making spaghetti with a meat sauce that includes ground sage sausage, ground beef and chopped pork chops. The sauce also contains, onions, garlic, red and green peppers topped with grated parmigiano reggiano and Kraft 4 cheese, mexican style cheeses.

This sounds good.  Putting pork chops in spaghetti sauce is a new one. *sly*

Well, it had 2 left over so I chopped them up and added them in near the end of cooking. I had a little bit of sage sausage left over and did the same. LOL

My fav is pepperoni and sage sausage with cheese. Gives it a pizza kind of taste. :)
