Thanksgiving always makes me think of my mother. She prepared the turkey the night before, and started cooking it early Thanksgiving morning. She made the dressing from scratch, including the cornbread and biscuits, and seasoned it with fresh sage and lots of garlic.

I miss those long drives home to WV and her coming out to meet us with her apron on and a big hug -- and that good food!

I wish I could say that Duke. My father passed away not long after I graduated from high school, my mother several years ago.
If nothing happens, I plan to drive to WV early next week for a few days.

Glad to say I am a lucky ole' rascal and still have both me parents. Lot of stress at me job the past few months so Ole' Duke is overdue a visit to the good ole' southern WV hills and backwoods. I need a little mountain time to get me mind right. Happy Thanksgiving to you Lib.
