Yes, Nestle the chocolate maker has a cookbook. Nestle owns a lot of other food companies including Buitoni (pasta), Libby's (juices), Carnation (evaporated and instant milks) and Stouffer's.
This recipe is from the cookbook entitled "The Nestle Cookbook" and makes 12 servings (2 large loaves). I suggest freezing one unless you have a lot of company over.
Prep: 15 Min's.
Cooking: 55 Min's.
Standing: 10 Min's.
1 large onion, chopped
1 small green bell pepper, chopped
1 1/4 cups plain dry bread crumbs - see note below
3/4 cup dry Nestle Carnation Instant Nonfat Dry Milk
2/3 cup of water - see note below
1/2 cup ketchup, divided
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon garlic salt or 2 teaspoons each of garlic powder and salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 pounds ground beef
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine onion, bell, pepper, bread crumbs, dry milk, water, 2 tablespoons ketchup, eggs, parsley, garlic salt, and black pepper in a large bowl.
Add ground beef; mix lightly but thoroughly.
Divide mixture in half and shape into 2 loaves.
Place in ungreased 13x9-inch baking dish.
Flatten loaves on top.
Cover with remaining ketchup.
Bake for 55 to 60 Min's or until no longer pink in center. Let stand for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
Notes:
Try Italian style bread crumbs instead...more flavor.
Try beef or chicken broth instead of water or half and half of each.
To avoid having your meatloaf sitting and cooking in oil place it on a wire rack over a baking sheet/pan. The juices will drain off and help to brown the loaf will not be greasy. ;)
Enjoy!
