Wegman's is truly a fabulous shopping experience. If you need it they have it including items from around the world! The following is a small list of the things found at Wegman's:
Bakery featuring Homemade European Breads.
Patisserie with the most mouthwatering desserts.
Sushi Bar.
Sandwich Shop w/homemade rolls.
Cheese Shop w/cheeses from around the world.
Seafood Shop from cod to Chilean Sea Bass (about $20 a pound!).
Asian Wockery is a salad bar style setting of the best Asian foods.
International Section with specialty ethnic foods.
Meats featuring all Angus beef products, chicken and veal.
They even sell truffles (about $245 per pound) and imported caviar.
Wegman's also has various precooked and packaged foods prepared by their chefs right on the premises. You can actually see them preparing the foods.
The store itself is vary large, almost like a Walmart Superstore except it contains all food stuffs. They even sell chopped and cleaned veggies and fruits. For instance, you can by a package of onion, carrots and celery already chopped and ready to use in your favorite dish. Other varieties are available as well.
Using their website you can view their on-line flyer or store items' listing. Clicking on an item will not only give you details about it but will also allow you to add it to a shopping list. This shopping list can be printed out and will even tell you exactly which aisle each item is located!
Menu Magazine is their own magazine which, to date, is only sold in its stores. It has detailed instructions for recipes as well as the techniques used. Each recipe usually has instructions on what section of the store where you can find its ingredients.
The recipes listed in the magazine always are paired well with a wine or beer.
