first of all, to suggest that the Civil war was fought over slavery is simplistic at best. But, given your educational background, simplistic is all I hope for from you.

Secondly, not only did many people think slavery was just fine, they defended it with their Bibles, their "morals" and their ideas of "right and wrong".

Care to take a stab at my second question? If right and wrong NEVER change, how is it that we had separate water fountains, pools, entrances for Blacks just a few generations ago?

It was wrong!!!!!!  People have a free will and do the wrong thing.  It does not change the fact of absolute morals values and a right and wrong of it.

You say, that right and wrong changes.  Yet you have a seething hate of me and refuse to  see underyour standard I am right it works for me.

Hello everyone

What an interesting reception.

It is nice to be here.

Oh by the way, I don’t ever say anything, unless the Lord gives me something to say.

So you might not hear from me, as much as I plan to hear from you.

I have no seething hate of you. I fully agree that your opinions work for you, and Ive no doubt that every (ridiculous) opinion you post is right as far as you are concerned. That doesnt change the fact that I believe with all that is in me that 99 percent of what you say is absurd, wrong, and grounded in complete ignorance.

Didn't we discuss this at the last loyal liberal meeting? I think we're supposed to at least appear to "seethe" so that the conservatives can pretend to be annoyed at us for "seething" and meanwhile ignore the hypocrisy and dichotomy between their actions and their words.  I think that's how it goes, but I'll need to check my notes.  *wop* <---Sandy seething  &^%

I usually don't get involved in discussions because people will only hear what they believe.... but I have to know if someone has a 'passion' about the abortion issue-are you for or against murdering helpless children? A lot of people say it's the woman's choice to have a child-and I agree with that-but that choice is made when women have unprotected sex... abortion is NOT birth control. Again I know there can be extenuating circumstances-like rape-but again the unborn child is NOT at fault and should NOT be murdered just because he or she was created in such an awful circumstance. You may say that the child is not a child but a fetus- what is a fetus but a developing child? One who has a beating heart, has the ability to feel and all the organs in place to live.

it depends on what stage of gestation its at as to whether half of that is true.

and unwanted pregnancies arent always the result of unsafe sex either.

I wonder, if these unwanted feti could be implanted into another woman, how many takers we would have?

From the day it is implanted in the uterus the fetus is a baby and has a heart beat.... as for the other half of what you said look at all the people who are waiting to adopt.... and, yes, all babies are not a result of unprotected sex-I did say that-but the baby should NOT have to suffer because of the circumstance surrounding his becoming.

Waiting to adopt?
That might help all the healthy white babies that might be aborted.

And not to be argumentative, but you're wrong. An embryo implants at 7-14 days and there is nothing of a heartbeat until five weeks. Dont believe me? Ask the mayo clinic.

Why would you say only 'the healthy, white babies'??? Look at all the adoptions that take place in other countries by Americans... it's ALL babies who are adoptable-healthy,disabled,whatever.... and, yes,I knew the stats on development-but how many women find out they are pregnant within 5 weeks?? By the time a woman knows she is well into the 5th week normally. This will be my last post on this subject-I'm not trying to start an argument or anything-just the murder of totally defenseless humans that NEVER asked to be created in the first place. God will watch over their souls anyway.

go to www.adoptuskids.com and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Healthy, white babies, are easy to place. Children of color and those with developmental or physical handicaps...good luck.

I tried to go on and was unsuccessful... I think you have to be a member... I enjoy the exchange of ideas as well but some folks tend to get ugly about certain things... :guns:
