It is alright to cut more trees right away according to the UN.  You liberals surely will not disagree  with the great body such as the UN. Make that carbon foot print bigger.  I will do my part.

You could have heard a pin drop at the Hong Kong conference designed to persuade the airline industry to cut back on its production of so-called greenhouse gases to fight "global warming."

The "Greener Skies 2008" conference had just heard from David Archibald, a solar scientist asserting that climate change is mostly dictated by solar cycles, not carbon dioxide levels, as conventional wisdom suggests.

Archibald didn't just tell the group not to worry about carbon dioxide emissions. He told those gathered they should figure out ways of increasing CO2 output.

"In a few short years, we will have a reversal of the warming of the 20th century," Archibald warned, according to CargoNews Asia. "There will be significant cooling very soon. Our generation has known a warm, giving sun, but the new generation will suffer a sun that is less giving, and the earth will be less fruitful. Carbon dioxide is not even a little bit bad – it's wholly beneficial."

One observer at the February conference said there would have been fewer jaws dropping had Archibald stripped off his clothes before the assembled.

"Plant growth responds to atmospheric carbon dioxide enrichment," he continued. "In a world of higher atmospheric carbon dioxide, crops will use less water per unit of carbon dioxide uptake. Thus the productivity of semi-arid lands will increase the most."

But the real shocker was not just his unorthodox view of carbon dioxide. Unlike most of those in the conference, Archibald doesn't see a future threat of global warming, but an imminent and dire future of global cooling.

"We will need this increase in agricultural productivity to offset the colder weather coming," he said. "It also follows that if the developed countries of the world want to be caring and sharing to the countries of the Third World, the best thing that could be done for them is to increase atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. It is the equivalent of giving them free phosphate fertilizer. Who would want to deny the Third World such a wonderful benefit?#039;'

After Archibald's speech, Martin Craigs, president of Aerospace Forum Asia, went to the microphone and asked: "Don't you have Al Gore's e-mail address?quot; "How can you be right and 2,000 scientists wrong?quot;

Archibald replied: "I am happy to share the science. It's all reputable."

The UN has their hand in all these global gatherings.  They are one of the leaders of the global warming hoax, using our own tax dollars.

Again, where in the article did it mention the UN...I guess that was just a lie on your part....did you really think we would trust you?

That is right, you two just call names, you can say nothing else. The report is clear we need more carbon dioxide to keep us from burning up.

You will not even believe it when a group of your own, is saying global warming is a hoax. Now mean mouth me some more, why is it you all howl we are all equal, yet you want me dead?    Do I not have a right to life?  Just because I do not buy into your new god of the environment, and all the killing of babies, and all the other sick deviant, perverted things you all hold dear.

Oh, RC, you know I dont want you dead.

If not for you, I might be in the hospital for low blood pressure.

But to pretend that anyone who is pro-choice advocates that there be as many abortions as possible (as you seem to think, judging by your comment to Moon) indicates a gross misunderstanding, over simplification, and false "either or" of the issue of choice.

Then again, you seem to have a lot of difficulty in grasping even simple concepts, so I shouldnt be shocked that you cant wrestle with a complex one.

Gryph, why not cut down all the forests for Cellulosic biofuels, and then plant corn for ethanol? It could be headed that way if theres a buck to be made.

ethanol, IMHO, is nothing but a band aid, its not a long term solution.

Excuse me idiot...but you made the snide comment about abortion clinics.....since you are incapable of carrying on a halfway intelligent discourse, one must digress in their comments so you will be able to understand what it is they are saying.  Even then you sorely lack comprehension skills.  There was nothing in the article to show it was liberal, it was a meeting of airlines....huge consumers of fossil fuels.  Give it up, you are sunk.
