Although I don't read nearly as much as I used to, I have books - and books I'm reading - all over the place. I started young and read everything I could get my hands on. With my vivid imagination, books opened up the world for me.

Books? What are those? I thought they went away with 8 track players?

Seriously, I just don't have time these days to read books. Maybe when i get real old, I'll have time, huh?

My moods change, often frequently so I normally have at least 3 books going at once. I keep them in various places that I might have time or the need to read, for example the bathroom, in the car (for appts, lunchtime, etc) and the bedroom. I even take one hiking w/me so that when I stop for lunch or a rest, I can read a chapter or two in the peace of the woods. I also join book clubs.

With that being said, I still don't get the time to read as much as I would like.  I find the library overhwhelming because I can't decide. lol  In an attempt to sooth that feeling, I keep a running list of books that sound interesting to me. I might hear about them on the TV or Radio, read about them in a magazine or have a friend recommend one. I use the "What have you Read" threads in forums as well.

I used to buy a lot of books at booksales and yardsales, but got to the point that I had too many and they were to difficult to tote around when I moved, so I started a book exchange at work, where you bring something in and leave it in a box and someone else brings something and takes from the box. I wasn't sure that it would be popular, but it has worked our really well. I've also done BookCrossing a couple times:

I like the book exchange thing.  That would be good in lots of places.  I love to read and when we were traveling back and forth to Morgantown for surgeries and test on my hubby this Winter I read alot.
